Read the tragic end of a bus conductor beaten to death by soldier over transport fare!

An unidentified soldier, yesterday morning allegedly beat a bus conductor (names unknown) to death at Obalende in Lagos, for insisting that the soldier who boarded his vehicle must pay his fare.

According to reports, the unidentified danfo driver with vehicle number LSD 451 XG was pounced on by the soldier who was in a mufti following a heated argument over transport fare.

Eyewitnesses say the man had accompanied his wife to the park at Obalende to get a bus to her destination. 

Within a moment, the late conductor and the woman, exchanged hot words over transport fare.

That made the unformed man to react. He lost his temper and kept beating the guy, until he died,” one account said.

He was said to have dragged the deceased, raining blows on his head, stomach and chest.
On noticing he had given up the ghost, the soldier, it was learnt, attempted to run but commuters and passersby who witnessed the beating arrested him and told him to carry the corpse to the hospital.

Sensing that the soldier was about to be mobbed, a policeman at the scene phoned his colleagues at the Kam Selem Police Divisional Headquarters, Moloney Street and four police patrol vehicles with policemen arrived the scene.
A detachment of armed soldiers from nearby Dodan Barracks also arrived the scene to prevent the culprit from being killed by the mob.

The soldiers took away their colleague and the corpse to their barracks after dispersing hundreds of people asking for the soldier’s blood.

Amazing! 100 passengers cheat death as Airplane loses tyre on landing.

Boeing 737 plane with over 100 passengers belonging to Aero Contractors had a tyre blow-out, on the 29th december 2013 at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, MMA, Lagos.

The aircraft, which  departed the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, NAA, Abuja around 9a.m. had the blow-out on landing at the Lagos Airport.
One of the over 100 passengers on board the plane was the former Minister, Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai who tweeted that, “Upon landing in Lagos, our Aero aircraft lost a tyre. The pilot did a great job of breaking to a halt. My phones flew under seats.”
Reacting to the incident, Mr. Yakubu Dati, coordinating spokesman, Aviation Parastatals said:  “An aircraft – Boeing 737-500 with Registration No. 5N-BLC, operated by Aero Contractors  landed safely at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos, following loss of pressure in one of the tyres, today ( yesterday) December 29, 2013.”
“The aircraft which landed at 10.50a.m. had a total of  104 passengers and crew members on board.
The aircraft has since been towed to the apron, and Accident Investigation Prevention Bureau, AIPB has commenced investigation into the incident.
“We wish to assure all air travellers of their safety and caution against magnifying a manageable incident out of proportion.”
One of the directors of the airline who does not want his name mentioned, was quoted to have confirmed the incident. But he added that the burst tyre had been replaced immediately by the engineers of the airline.
He explained that the airline was currently waiting for the approval of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, for the aircraft to return to operations, but insisted that it was a minor incident, which is normal in aircraft operations.
It will be recalled that there has been speculation that the Federal government is considering making Aero Contractors a national carrier. The Federal Government, through AMCON, owns 60 per cent shares of the airline. The name of the airline is to be changed to Nigerian Eagle.

Dbanj and Genevieve back together for real??

I hope this isn't a rumour! Honestly I just hope these two aren't playing us all. In a recent interview the Kokomaster, 33 admitted his feelings for the Nigerian screen goddess Genevieve Nnaji, 34,where he went on to say he would love to marry her. Now I hear they are back together two years after they parted ways! 
 It was also disclosed that Genny is currently staying at D'banj's Lekki home and that they are already talking marriage! Hmmm..(she don really make am fall in love,like seriously!!! Lol)
A couple of days ago Dbanj was also sighted with the stunning actress at an event and it wasn't hard to see the strong bond they yet shared having dated previously from 2009 to 2011 before our Genny broke up the relationship because of Dbanj's lack of commitment.

1. Change positionsSleeping on your back causes the base of your tongue to fall backward into your throat, which narrows your airway. So try sleeping on your side. If you find yourself still waking up on your back, prop your head up on several pillows. This will open up your nasal airway passages and may help you stop snoring.

2. Lose weight

Extra weight around the throat narrows the airway, which can trigger snoring. Shedding extra pounds can remedy the problem.

3. Avoid alcohol and sedatives

They depress your central nervous system, causing your muscles—which include the tissues in your throat—to relax too much. So avoid drinking alcohol at least two hours before bedtime, and exercise caution when taking sedatives.

4. Fight nasal congestion

Congestion due to colds, allergies, or a deviated septum can limit airflow through your nose, forcing you to breathe through your mouth and increasing the likelihood of snoring. Try taking a hot shower before you go to bed to help open up your nasal passages. Using an oral or spray decongestant also can help, but see your doctor before such medications more than three days in a row. (Long-term use of decongestants can have a rebound effect and eventually make your congestion worse.) Your doctor may prescribe you a steroid spray for chronic congestion. Or, if you have a deviated septum, you may need surgery.

5. Remove allergens in your bedroom

Dust mites in pillows can cause allergic reactions that in turn can make you snore. So wash your pillows every other week, and replace them every six months to minimize dust mites and allergens. Dust your ceiling fan, and keep pets out of your bedroom.

OJB Jezreel takes an angry swipe at Dbanj in new interview..

 In an interview with Inspiration FM's Gloria Maduka, music producer OJB Jezreel talked about the controversies caused by the donations from some celebrities for his medical treatment. OJB, D'banj's former music producer was mad at D'banj because while trying to raise funds, there were rumours that D'banj had given him N7m, a report that D'banj didn't deny. OJB says D'banj didn't give him a kobo and was upset that he didn't try to set the record straight. He said

"The most disappointing one for me is D'banj because he passed through my hands, he was trained under my tutelage. That is offensive. I don't care if you're with Kanye West, you can't forget your root. I won't call anybody else's name but I will call his because it hurts. His own hurts very deep. Veteran actor Jet Li battles with ill health..

50 year old Chinese action star, Jet Li is currently being treated of an overactive thyroid in China.
Jet Li however said  he was determined to fight the condition head-on.
He discussed his diagnosis during the taping of a talent show he’s judging in China. 

He said his weight had increased, but he was taking it all in stride. Li joked about his weight gain and said “I’m fat, I don’t have the time to lose it. It’s a fact!”

He explained that exercise does not go with the medication he’s taking.

Li was diagnosed in 2010. He kept his condition under control with medication, but it came back with a vengeance recently.He said that he’s tackling his illness head-on. “I’m just a regular guy, I’m not Wong Fei Hung, I’m not Huo Yuan Jia (kung fu heroes he portrays on film), I’m not a hero. I’m just like you.”

Li confessed there are times he’s unsure if he’s able to carry on with work, but he’s determined. “I’m in pain, but I’m not suffering. I’m happy,” he said.

Female Suicide bomber blows up train station in Volgograd Russia.

A massive explosion at a train station in the Russian city of Volgograd has killed at least 16 people, including one police officer, as many as 50 people were wounded - at least half of them are in critical condition., including a 9-year-old girl.

According to reports, the blast was carried out by a female suicide bomber who detonated her explosives in front of a metal detector just inside the main entrance of the train station.
One woman had a narrow escape when she left the station just moments before the bomb went off, reports CBS News's Holly Williams.

"I saw people running," she said. "Human flesh all around, shattered glass and broken doors. I saw smoke, but I didn't understand what was going on."

This would be the second deadly attack on Russia in just two months as Russia prepares to host the 2014 Winter Olympics in the Black Sea city of Sochi in less than six weeks' time. 
In October, another female suicide bomber blew herself up on a city bus in Volgograd, killing six people and injuring about 30.

 The second daughter of Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka,Miss Iyetade Soyinka has died @age 48..She died at the University of Ibadan Teaching Hospital after a brief illness leaving behind 2 kids and parents.
 Sad indeed. May her soul rest in peace. Amen.

"I'm a sucker for good wrist watches;in fact they endear me to the extent its the first thing I'm attracted to whenever a man approaches me for friendship. I look at you for the first time,my eyes involuntarily drawn to your wrist. If you are wearing a good watch,then you become my friend,no two ways about it! If my eyes detect a fake,i get pissed off and just won't let you come close to me.
Vain as it may sound,that's how it is..that's how it has always been. I really don't care if you are handsome,ugly,rich or poor. I really don't care if you are stingy or free-giving. You just don a good watch and I won't mind dating you. I do not exaggerate when I say I've got over 50 wristwatches! And all designers too. I look at my collection of watches and a certain thrill course through me. It's kinda hard to explain..from the likes of Patek,Gucci,Dkny,to Sekonda,Rolex,Next and MK(to mention but a few designer wristwatches)I wear them with such confidence and exhilaration,glorying in their beauty.
 I remember a particular young,rich dude who wanted me for marriage. The moment I set my eyes on the cracked leather strap of his wristwatch,i recoiled. Nothing good ever came out of that relationship afterwards.I stopped taking his calls and the rest they say......
 At 29 I'm not desperate to become a wife just yet! I shall get married when I shall get married. Just as many other ladies pin the 'rich,young,God-fearing' tag to the men of their dreams,so also have I pinned "Good taste of Wrist watches,good wrists to wear them!" tag to the man of my own dreams too!
 I'm bringing this up here because my elder sister sent me a BlackBerry message this morning which I regard as a stinker. Please read :

"THE FOOD ROBOT" (REAL LIFE STORY)

Hi y'all! You're good I guess  #Broadgrin# I just returned from Church service and chillaxing over a bottle of cold coke(my addiction! *rolling my eyes*)in my room. Right now i'm thinking of the startling blue "beetle" car that I saw on my way home parked outside a storey building and it has somewhat triggered the thoughts of one of my childhood experiences i'm about to share with you now.

As I continue to write I have this quirky  tilt to my lips borne out of the  pure,pure mischief I so exuded while growing up. As a young girl of 8 and a primary three pupil of Gaius Obaseki school, I had many friends in my class amongst whom were Adesuwa Obaseki(my bestie),Adesuwa Uzamere,Ngozi Ashinze,Faith Ogbu,Anthony Areghan and Maimunatu Sanni. These were my main 'homies' and 'co mischief-makers! 

As usual my dad would go drop me at school in the mornings in his blue 'beetle' and his official driver would come pick me up after close. I usually preferred my dad doing the school runs though,because he always did stop by at Ehigiator Supermarket situated around 1st East circular road,or Exclusive stores on sapele road for Ice cream and their famous Meat pie of all times! On the way home as he drove,i would wave at passersby with a huge grin,and sometimes had this facial expression of "You don't remember me?!" and again wave at them vigorously...hahahaha! Most of them always did wave back at the little girl sitting at the passengers' side of the blue 'beetle', smiling profusely.i still wonder till today why these strangers waved back! Did they just want to indulge the lil pretty girl in her father's car or they actually did think I knew them from somewhere?! 

  One day when the girls got talking in the class room during break,Ngozi who was renowned for splitting our ears with heavy 'bubbles' came up with something new again. Said she was born in California in Spain! 

"Ngozi,i thought you said it was St philomena in Benin city the other day?!" Faith frowned. She looked at me. I looked at her too. She turned to Adesuwa obaseki who as well turned to Adesuwa Uzamere. We all sighed as we listened on. She narrated how she only returned to Nigeria when she turned 2. A deep sigh wrenched from the depth of us,each thinking why we hadn't been birthed in California in Spain!

The following day our Class teacher,Mrs Ubanatu (my very loving and strict teacher! Jeez!)before lectures told us to tell the class what we had for breakfast. I stood up and muttered,"Bread and eggs with Tea." 

"Good! Next!" she pointed at Maimunatu(learnt she soon married when we gained admission into secondary school a few years later). She stood and said,"Bread and butter."

"Good! Next." She gestured at Faith. Faith said she had fried plantain and eggs. Mrs Ubanatu went ahead and pointed Owa who slowly and quietly muttered,"Eba..."
The whole class "awwwwwwd" and "ahhhhhhhd" and our Class teacher turned to us sternly. Instantly we kept mute. Then it was Ngozi's turn. She pursed her lips,boldly and in high pitch,said"Fried rice,salad and Chicken!"

"Good...next...."

Do you know before close time Ngozi fell ill and started to vomit. Jeeez,she vomited huge lumps of Eba with Ogbono soup! We were all over her in sympathy but truth was we had seen the lumps and were actually glad we did. The next day we taunted her over it but trust Ngo to come up with something. I think she said it had been the previous day's meal! Hahahahahah..

When I got home I began to think of my own "bubbles" (fibs) and instantly an idea popped. What if I told my mum I wanted Jollof rice and Chicken in my lunch flask and told my school mates that it was our Robot who prepared it! Yeah,robot...the new terminator-like robot who prepared our meals instantly upon taking orders! Fabulous Idea,amazing one...

My mum who had my eye as her apple,obliged me and gbaaaam -my flask was fully and richly loaded with Jollof rice,Chicken and even plantain to top it. I went to school happily and announced the new Food Robot in our house that prepared whichever meal you demanded! I excitedly watched their eyes go round in shock and then finally in delight. 

"Where did your parents get the Food Robot from?!" Faith squealed in delight.

"This is wonderful!" Adesuwa Uzamere hugged me.

"I'll tell my dad when he returns from France to get one for me too!" Ngozi exclaimed in obvious
amazement.

"Wow,I love this Robot!" Adesuwa hugged me fiercely.

I gingerly opened the flask and revealed the sumptuous meal. They sighed and swallowed. I smiled and invited them to come join me.

As our driver came to pick me after school,Ngozi threw at me to tell the Food Robot to prepare spaghetti and Chicken tomorrow! My heart missed a solemn beat...

*..and so my yesteryears stories go on and on..Lol!!!
I miss all my childhood friends from my primary school -Adesuwa obaseki,Ngozi Ashinze,Faith,Owa,Maimunatu,Dupe Ahanmisi..and others! M glad to have had you as friends,and still glad! Kisses N much love.

Mr Ugly, William Masvinu says women are throwing themselves at his feet. But he is not interested.
   Scooping the Mr Ugly title twice in a row is undisputed testament that the Harare man is indeed very ugly and deserves the accolade.
Masvinu who shares his mobile with his wife Alice Chabhanga who is almost always by his side, said he does not have time for ‘girls’. “Zvevasikana handina dhiri nazvo, I have my own girl at home and one needs to be careful these days because there are diseases,” said Masvinu.
Masvinu is confident of his looks and is unfazed by people who stare at him in the streets. “My ugliness comes naturally to me and although I did a bit to prepare for the show, I let my looks do the rest. Now I am a celebrity, when people meet me in the street they shout Mr Ugly and I wave at them happily,” he said.
Masvinu, who is a part time mechanic, revealed that he has also ventured into acting and features in a film titled Fuse Yatsva which has already been produced.

I party inside my house. I do my  recording inside my house. When you start mingling and partying with everybody in different places that is where one or two things would start to emerge.

I’m either here in my house or in my second house on the Island. When you mingle much with people, at times you start trusting people that are not supposed to be trusted. You start having divided attention. You would take a picture and make joke with it and tomorrow it’s all over the newspapers and internet.

Prophet Ayodele Babatunde foretells the future of Nigeria come 2014..Predicts Patience Jonathan may die before 2015!

Prophet Babatunde Ayodele, Founder/Spiritual Head of Inri Evangelical Church, Lagos, has over the years warned the country of looming dangers, mostly unheeded. Warnings came before the airplane mishap that involved Sosoliso and Bellview Airlines in 2005, but were unheeded. The cleric has again spoken of things to come in the new year as 2013 winds down, emphasising the need for fervent prayers to avert evil, especially in the first family, as he says President Jonathan has to be prayerful so that he would not lose his wife.
“Concerning the year 2014, I will advise every Nigerian to take time and be prayerful for the country and for themselves from the 1st to 3rd of January, 2014. This is for God to prevent imminent dangers ahead of the nation and economy. Let us take it from here. I don’t see anything happening in the Nigerian economy. I see debts everywhere- our crude oil, foreign reserve, and all.
“States will be in debt, the Federal Government will be in debt and Nigeria will be planning to go borrow money. So, the government has to be very careful not to be grinded by these debts. Prices of food will increase drastically and flour will be scarce and very expensive. Corruption too will be more prevalent because this government lacks the power to fight it. Fighting oil theft will also pose a major challenge and Nigeria will beg America to support her in the fight. The price of petroleum will increase as well.

“There will be too much of troubles concerning kerosene. Sea pirates will dominate the waterways and the African Union, AU, will form a common security to monitor our seaways. Various organisations such as the Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, PENGASSAN, and The National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, NUPENG, will be embarking on industrial action almost at the same time. Again, power supply will be unstable until 2015, 2016. I also see ocean surge in Lagos. Sponsors of Boko Haram will be exposed as well. Very importantly, let us be very watchful so we don’t have any border crisis.
“Like I’ve always said, President Goodluck Jonathan’s second term is dicey. He will start some political abracadabra in order to gain his second term which will be characterised by so much of negotiations. He will have to cajole and beg a lot of people; he will also beg Obasanjo. What Nigerians see now is only a tip of the iceberg of the clash that will come between Obasanjo and Jonathan.
“In the process of Jonathan’s negotiations, the offices of the Vice President, the Chief of Staff and the Secretary to the Federal Government will be affected. When he eventually succeeds through negotiation, some of these governors who moved to the All Progressive Congress, APC, will return back to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and Tukur will be removed.

“At the same time, I want to tell you that when Jonathan eventually gets his second term, there will be crisis. Also, another person will be shopped by the PDP to take over from Jonathan, but like I said, through negotiation and begging, he will get the second term. Jonathan might be the last president of PDP to rule this country, anyway. He also has to be prayerful and watchful so he doesn’t lose his wife, the First Lady of the country. I also see shake-up in the cabinet and ministers being removed and replaced. The Ministers of Petroleum and Aviation will also be seriously probed. Some people might not like theses prophecies, but that is not my problem because I am speaking as God has directed me,” Ayodele said.
Speaking further, he stated; “An unknown man will rule Lagos State. Nationally, APC has accommodated traitors and betrayals. It is not yet time for the party to rule this country. However, if they really want to rule, they have to struggle and pray very well to get the right candidate. They must be watchful so that their party is not used for negotiation.
“Nigeria will try their best in the World Cup but I do not see them in the semi-final or final. Let us be very watchful in the aviation sector so that pilots will not go on strike. Also, there will be air turbulence in some of our airports such as in Lagos and Abuja. We also must be watchful so that there won’t be any air crash. I however see reforms in the aviation sector.
Let us pray very well so that this growing climatic condition will also not cause mourning for this country,” Ayodele said.

Singer/United nations peace Ambassador,Adokiye Khiran had this to say concerning tattoos in an interview (excerpt)with Punch recently :

PUNCH :What's your take on tattoos?

Adokiye : Tattoos? I’m not a fan. I mean I don’t judge people with tattoos; I have a lot of friends with tattoos. I don’t have any. Sincerely, I don’t see myself getting any tattoo ever. That’s the gospel truth. My mummy would literally kill me. I can vividly remember the last time I was in London; I tried to play my mummy, I called my mummy while she was in Nigeria and said, ‘Mummy, I’m in a tattoo shop in London, let me have just one tattoo please.’ She screamed at the top of her voice and ordered me to disappear from the shop at once. So you see, I just can’t have a tattoo.

 IK Ogbonna is seen with his rumoured new girlfriend, Ava Rejoius in stunning new photos. Ava is an upcoming Hollywood actress/model and I learnt the two reportedly met during IK's recent trip to the US. He spent the better half of his stay with her and I also learnt she'll be visiting him in Nigeria soonest. 

Hopefully this recent development will quench the 'rumour' surrounding the handsome actor's sexuality!
