40 YEAR OLD WIDOW CAUGHT WITH A DAY OLD BABY IN A SACK.

A 40-year old widow who simply identified herself as Mujidat was caught on Wednesday with a dead day old baby she hid inside a sack around her residence at 2, Reverend Alimi Street, NEPA Phase I, Ijagemo in Iba Local Council Development Area of Lagos State.
P.M.NEWS learnt that a member of the community, High Chief Babatunde Balogun caught the mother of seven when she was  trying to dispose the baby at about 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
When questioned on the content of the sack, she claimed she was coming from the market where she bought some household items.
However, on a closer look, Balogun discovered that the sack contained a dead day old baby the woman allegedly had just delivered.
He then called the attention of the other residents.
Neighbours told P.M.NEWS that after Mujidat’s husband known as Baba Mushin died about three years ago, they have seen men visiting her residence, the house built by her late husband.
When asked if she planned to throw away the baby because of an alleged paternity mess, she denied, claiming  that a welder turned block maker near her residence was responsible for the pregnancy that resulted in the birth of the dead baby she was caught with.
She claimed she took delivery of the baby by herself because she found it easy and therefore did not go to any hospital or sought anybody’s  help.
At about 9 p.m yesterday when P.M.NEWS visited the area, residents of the area were still milling around the residence of the woman.
Officials of the Community Development Association, CDA, in the area later accompanied the woman and her sack of baby to the Isheri-Oshun Police Division where the matter was reported.
At the time of this report, the woman was still being interrogated.

RITA DOMINIC AND HOLLYWOOD'S LYNN WHITFIELD HAVE BEEN ANNOUNCED AS THE AMBASSADORS FOR THE AFRICA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

Nollywood star Rita Dominic and Hollywood actress Lynn Whitfield have been announced as the ambassadors for the Africa International 

Film Festival (AFRIFF). 

The announcement was recently made by Chioma Ude, the Executive Director and Founder of the Africa International Film Festival. 

Chioma said maintained that Rita's amazing achievement as a Nollywood actress as well as Lyn's Hollywood successful career were the motives for choosing the two as the festival's Goodwill Ambassador. 

"Rita Dominic is a consummate actress and indeed an African screen Icon, having won several awards and nominations throughout her career, most recently she became Africa's Best Actress by winning the 2012 Africa Movies Academy Award (AMAA) for her role in the Kenyan film Shattered. She also has won the Nollywood Movies Award, the Nigeria Entertainment Award and City People's Face of Nollywood Award. With over one hundred films to her credit, she has played a pivotal role in showcasing Nigerian cinema popularly known as Nollywood. 

"Lynn is a natural choice as AFRIFF Goodwill Ambassador not just for her accomplishments in Hollywood, but also because of her passionate support for the AFRIFF project since its inception," Chioma explained. 

Rita Dominic was spotted with the AFRIFF team at the BEAT FM few days ago as the team begin awareness and campaign bill up for the festival.

ANGELS DO CRY. (PART 1)

The woman in travail screamed,an eerie sound in the dark. Deep convulsive waves contorted her features as she felt the agonizing contractions from the pit of her protruded belly, through her entire body. Then the urge to push came again.
 The woman pushed. Pushed. Her teeth gnashed as she stifled the overwhelming urge to scream her lungs out. The clouds above had turned a dark shade of blue. The wind howled angrily,the blinding flash of lightening illuminated her twisted face in the dark as she thrashed in the sands, all alone in labour.
As a rumble of thunder shook the earth, the woman let out a final  guttural sound and pushed with all her might. A squirming red faced baby slipped out of her and she weakly cut the tie that held her to it. No sooner had she done that than she felt the pool of blood gush from her. With one hand she held on to the crying bundle and tried to rock it. Her strength was fast fading; she needed to take it away..just anywhere - it would be safe. If the villagers of Omodu got wind of its birth,that meant the instant death of it. She staggered to her feet,wincing in pain. She made to take a step but faltered. Heaving a deep breath she tried again. Slowly she moved,and moved,slowly..slowly..slowly through a narrow path towards the outskirts of the village.
The sky suddenly opened in a blast of rain. A dejected sob caught in the woman's throat as she shielded her child in the crook of her arms. At some point she tripped, but by a stroke of luck she found her feet,more determined to get Angel out of Omodu. Yes,Angel would be her daughter's name. "Angel.." she tested the name of her lips,looking down at the small,blood coated baby who seemed to stare back at her. Was it a small smile she saw lurking around her lips?  Oh no! The woman quickly negated that uncanny thought. But she found it a trifle disturbing that she'd stopped wailing,instead had an usual calmness about her.
 She soon found her way to Omukpe,the neighbouring village. Slowly she moved towards the first hut that greeted her eyes. Her breaths were coming in short gasps now. Her head was spinning,yet she managed to hold on to her baby. She knocked on the door. There was no response. She did knock again and was glad when the door creaked open to reveal a bald headed man.
"W-w-who are you?" he squinted his eyes in the dark,taking in the bleeding form of a woman with child. Without waiting for a response,he took the child from her and called on his wife in a loud voice," Ulo! Ulo! Please come quickly! " Ulo rushed out,saw the crying child in her husband's arms,the weak looking woman and then quickly helped the woman into the hut. She lay her gently on the mat and got hold of a piece of cloth and a bowl of water. She bent over the near lifeless form of the woman and began to wipe the blood off her body.
Ulo paused midway when the woman's cold hand reached out and grabbed her by the arm."Stop..." she whispered hoarsely."I won't live...."
"You shall live!" cried Ulo, wiping off the last of blood stains.
"Who are you? Where are you from?" Ulo's husband asked from behind them. The child had quietened in his arms now and was looking so peaceful.
"I-i-i-i am Ugoji.. from..from..Omodu village. I've lived..lived..as..as..an outcast..in the village..since..since I got defiled by a stranger..in..in the..forest -" she trailed off,staring into empty space. Ulo and her husband were conversant with Omodu's punishment for defilement. The victim was either banished from the village or lived there as an outcast   -No one traded with such a woman who was regarded as loose and if anyone was caught interacting he was banished too.
"Do you have any relatives?" Ulo interrupted brokenly. Her eyes were filled with sorrow now.
"I am an..orphan..My daughter's name shall be called Angel...Someday she'll find..the..stranger who robbed me of my innocence. She shall avenge......." She breathed her last. Ulo let out a loud cry.
 "Shhhhh..." her husband's forehead drew in a tight frown, "We should be thankful to the gods that it's late so we can easily dispose her body in the evil forest. Should any Omodu villager know we took her in you know what that means." He said.
Ulo nodded her head slowly. It was true what her husband said but the lifeless cold body of the woman tore at her heart.
 The body was thrown into the evil forest soon as they got it all wrapped in black cloth. All through the night Angel cried and finally drifted to sleep shortly before dawn.

The 36-year-old actress who married NFL player Nnamdi Asomugha in a super covert ceremony in June has yet another surprise on the way -- a baby! As the new issue of US Weekly exclusively reveals, the Scandal star is pregnant with her first child.
"She's about four months along," a pal said. (Thus far, the mom-to-be has kept any hint of a baby bump concealed under roomy dresses.)

Pain, jealousy and a myriad of other conflicting emotions coursed through my system as I looked at the one woman who had stolen my virginity and now my man! It all came rushing in,her deception,betrayal coupled with Max's lies too. My jaw clenched.         I'm sure anger was the fiercest of all the emotions I felt for my eyes had now become slits of red hot fury,my nostrils flared,lips clamped.I actually felt a murderous rage well up from within me. How I came to push her away from the door never ceases to amaze me till date. I sometimes think back to that precise moment I exploded. Lady had gasped in utter shock and taken to her heels.
 I broke down weeping uncontrollably. Nothing seemed to matter anymore,okay may be my mum and siblings excluded. I didn't know what hurt me more -Max's betrayal or Lady T's... and then suddenly  it dawned on me that what I felt for Lady T was nothing near Max's. Just then I felt a presence around me..I looked up to see my mum standing by the door with her arms folded across her chest. For the first time ever I saw the tired lines around the corners of her eyes,the drawn cheeks,the slump of small shoulders and it flashed on my mind that I hadn't exactly been a good girl -the many night parties,near naked clothes,and frolicking with the girls. Max dropped the third bottle of beer noisily on the table. He felt fuzzy in the head. He got to his feet,picked his car key and staggered out of Rainbow pub. He dreaded going back home to meet Teldian. Jeez,why had things not worked the way he planned? Now he'd lost the one he truly loved because he'd failed to handle things right. Would Nnena ever forgive him? Was there any slightest chance of them coming together again?
      His mobile phone vibrated in his pant pocket an umpteenth time. "Leave me alone Teldian!" he barked. She'd been calling him to come home. Her last sms had read thus : Game Over Maxxy. Come home Lover boy.". He'd cringed at the mockery that oozed from the words. Well,he decided to go home after all. All of a sudden he felt so tired of running. Now it was time to sort things.
 As he rode back home,his mind travelled down memory lane -to a time he'd first met Teldian. He was smitten with her good looks,sexual prowess and acute mind. Upon four months of dating the magnificent CEO of LADY T clothings he'd proposed. He'd thought a man who had these attributes in a woman didn't need more.
 Barely three months after he proposed,she moved into his home. The beautiful Lady T,to his utter dismay turned out to be a lousy cook. She wouldn't prepare his meals,and even when she did,the meals were always an eye sore! Aside this,he also discovered she was very self-centred.
 It got to a point he wanted out the engagement desperately. But somehow he trudged on,reiterating to himself that he was one the fewest men around who kept his promises.
 And then he recalled the first day he encountered Nnena,his pretty Nnena. He'd returned home from the office and was resting over a bottle of wine in the gazebo when he saw his fiancée get in the car with her. He had made to call at Tedian but what he saw after that shocked him! Tedian took the naive girl in her arms and kissed her thoroughly on the lips. Soon as they drove out, he got in his car swiftly and went after them. Unfortunately he missed the trail and returned home dejected,the angelic face of Nnena never leaving his mind for a minute.
The good Lord smiled on him not too long after that. He saw her again. Yes,in that supermarket.. and as they say,the rest was history.
 He got home,parked his car and walked into the house slowly. He turned the door knob and entered. Tedian was sitting in the living room with a luggage by her side. As she saw him she got to her feet and hugged him. Instantly he tensed. No,this wasn't happening? He expected an angry,scorned woman but..this..this..this smiling woman? No!
"I'm leaving Maxxy," she whispered into his ears. Her voice was tinged with sadness.
"I dont..understand.."
Teldian sighed. "I cannot marry you Maxxy. I've been meaning to tell you for a while now..but..i kinda felt sorry that..that..that you've been so good to me...so wonderful.."
Max stared,dumbfounded.
She went on sadly,"i'm bi-sexual. You Maxxy deserve much more than a bi-sexual wife.." she sighed, " I know about your affair with that Nnena girl...well only recently though." she held his eyes and looked away. "I never blamed you for a moment."
Max found his voice."Tedian -"
She cut in,"its alright. Honestly" she shrugged and continued," I even went to Nnena's house to wish her all the best with you but she wouldn't listen to me. Maxxy,she was distraught. The poor child loves you Maxxy."
 Max eyes went sober. He chewed thoughtfully on his lower lip.
"Go to her Maxxy and make things work. Wish you guys all the best. And.." she smiled "invite me for the wedding." She picked her luggage and threw after her shoulder,"Bye Maxxy. Don't bother seeing me out please."
 And she was gone.
 Max heaved a tired sigh.

After a successful kidney surgery in India,

has finally been discharged.       The ace singer and producer sent out a release stating that he’s well, has been discharged and will soon return to the country.

14 YEAR OLD TEENAGER RAPES 9 YEAR OLD GIRL TO DEATH!

The police in Lagos State have commenced investigation into how a nine-year-old girl died, after sustaining injuries caused by alleged consistent rape.

According to police authorities, the deceased was raped over five times, by a 14-year-old student, Onyi Adimabua, in the Ikorodu area of the state.

The father of the deceased, Simeon Jigo, told PUNCH Metro that Onyi is the son of the proprietor of the school his daughter attended.
He said his daughter opened up about the rape when she started having medical problems.

The 77-year-old man said his daughter died on October 3, 2013. He said:

“Up until my daughter’s death, she was a pupil of Fulfilled Greenland School, Ikorodu, and she was in primary three. One day, she came home and started complaining of pains around her vagina, stomach area.
We rushed her to Ikorodu General Hospital. A doctor checked her and after conducting some tests on her, told us that my daughter had sustained medical complications due to forced sexual intercourse.

I was alarmed by this; so, I had a private discussion with my daughter. She told me that it was her school proprietor’s son, Onyi, that had been raping her. The boy had threatened to kill her if she ever told anyone about it.”

The indigene of Ondo State told PUNCH Metro that after initial treatments, he took his daughter to Arogbo in Ondo State to be taken care of but her condition continued to deteriorate.

A few days after the troubled father travelled to Ondo State, Onyi, accompanied by his parents, also travelled to Ondo State, to apologise to Jigo’s family. The girl, however, was said to have died that very day. 

“On getting to the house where my daughter was, we discovered that she was dead. Onyi confessed that he had been raping my daughter prior to her death,’ Jigo said.

PUNCH Metro learnt that after the girl’s demise, irate youths in the area attempted to lynch the 14-year-old boy. The bereaved father was said to have intervened and reported the matter to a nearby police station, where the teenager was held for safe keeping.

The next morning, Onyi and his parents travelled back to Lagos.The alleged rapist’s parents, in company with a chief in Ikorodu, reportedly visited Jigo when he returned to Lagos.
The group were said to have pleaded that the bereaved father should not pursue the case but he refused. Jigo said:

“I went to the Ikorodu Police station to report the case but was surprised when the policemen on duty said I should not write any statement.  They only told me to write down my telephone number and said they would call me later.
After waiting for many days without any call, I wrote a petition and the matter was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba.”

It was however learnt that Onyi had been taken to his father’s hometown in Delta State thereby stalling police investigation.

The teenager’s parents,  however described the incident as the handiwork of the devil.
The 14-year-old boy’s father, Andrew Adimabua, said:

“I trained that boy in the way of the Lord and expected so much from him. He has confessed to the act; there is nothing to hide. He told me that he learnt about sex by watching blue (pornographic) films.
We are not hiding him and we will cooperate with the police. On the day the little girl died, he was beaten up and made to stay in the rain for hours. As a result, he contracted pneumonia so we sent him home for treatment. When he recovers, he’ll be taken to the police for questioning.”

Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, who confirmed the incident to our correspondent on the telephone, expressed shock at the development.Braide said Onyi would be re-arrested in the course of investigation.

“It is appalling that a teenager could indulge in such act. The matter is under investigation and the culprit will be re-arrested.”

FOLASHADE TINUBU OJO,THE NEW IYALOJA OF LAGOS STATE.

Folashade  Tinubu Ojo, the first daughter of former Governor of Lagos state - Gov Ahmed Tinubu has been crowned the new Iyaloja of Lagos State and the President General of the Market Men and Women of Nigeria. The installation took place today at the palace of the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu. Bola Tinubu's mum held the position before she passed away recently. 

CHRIS BROWN CHARGE REDUCED TO MISDEMEANOUR ASSAULT

Chris brown just cut a big break...!!!The charge has just been reduced from a FELONY to a MISDEMEANOR ... and Chris pled not guilty.  Chris has just been released without bail. He's also required to stay 100 yards away from the victim.

Chris had been ordered to take a drug test, but the judge just vacated that order.  It's standard in such cases to order a drug test, but that has been cancelled.  

The bodyguard's charge was also reduced to a misdemeanor.

TMZ broke the story ... Brown was arrested for felony assault early Sunday morning in Washington D.C. after allegedly attacking a man outside a hotel and breaking his nose.

Brown allegedly got into an argument with a man, said "I'm not down with that gay s**t, I'm into boxing," and then punched him in the nose.

Law enforcement sources Reveals That... the fight started when the man and his friend photobombed Chris, who was posing for a picture with two girls.

Sources close to Chris insist the fight wasn't over a photo -- they say the alleged victim tried to force his way onto Chris' tour bus, and Chris was merely trying to stop a trespass.

ANOTHER PLANE CRASH AVERTED IN ABUJA.

Another air disaster was averted at the Nnamdi Azikwe Airport, Abuja on Monday as a Med-View Airlines aircraft from Lagos suddenly took to the air again at the point of landing in Abuja. The pilot told the passengers that he took to the air again to avoid a collision with another aircraft on the tarmac. The airline Flight VL2104 took off from the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos at noon and was scheduled to land in Abuja at about 1.05pm. The pilot had already announced final descent into Abuja and asked all passengers and cabin crew to fasten their seat belts but the pilot suddenly took off to the air again with barely 30 seconds to touch ground. The plane had 150 passengers on board. A correspondent of The PUNCH was one of the passengers. After about three minutes of gaining altitude, the pilot announced that he decided to take off again to avoid colliding with an aircraft that was on ground. He said that after he had been granted clearance to land, it was later discovered that the other aircraft was not fast enough, hence his decision to take off. The aircraft hovered for another 20 minutes in the air before finally landing at about 1.30pm. While the drama lasted, the passengers were panic-stricken, especially when the plane entered into turbulent weather on air. The PUNCH correspondent said that among the passengers were five different complete families. One of the passengers, a nursing mother, who was breastfeeding her son at the time the pilot took off again reportedly withdrew the breast from the boy’s mouth and started praying profusely while the baby’s cry rented the air. When the plane finally landed, the passengers struggled to disembark. “Are you still sitting down? Let me rush down in case it will suddenly take off again,” a middle-aged man was heard teasing one of his co-passengers. The incident came less than a month after an Embraer aircraft operated by Associated Airlines with registration number SCD 361, conveying the corpse of a former Governor of Ondo State, Chief Olusegun Agagu, from Lagos to Akure for burial, crashed on October 3 shortly after take-off at Murtala Mohammed Airport, Lagos. Thirteen passengers in the crashed plane were killed, including a commissioner in Ondo State, Deji Falae

VULCANIZER KIDNAPS SON,DEMANDS N350,000 RANSOM

The State Security Service, Lagos State Command, has arrested a 48-year-old man, Samson Adebayo, for allegedly arranging the kidnap of his nine-year-old son, Emmanuel, and demanding a ransom of N350,000.

According to the SSS, Adebayo had solicited the help of his girlfriend, Kehinde Alonge, to kidnap Emmanuel from his residence at 2, Solomon Street, Ilu-Nla, Aradagun, Badagry.

The director, SSS, Lagos State, Mr. Ben Achu-Olayi, said Adebayo reported the incident to security agents, pretending to be distraught.

He said, “On October 7, 2013, the command received a report from Adebayo Samson, who complained that his son was kidnapped on October 3.

“Consequently, the command swung into action with the aim of rescuing the victim and arresting the culprits. Preliminary investigations confirmed the kidnapping by Alonge, who had demanded a N350,000 ransom.

“She demanded that the ransom be paid into a United Bank of Africa account 2050908899, belonging to one Taiwo Faloye. Unknown to the suspects, we had set up a flag on the account with the bank’s cooperation and were alerted when N230,000 was remitted.”

He said Alonge was arrested when she went to withdraw the money from a UBA branch at Ilesha, Osun State, adding that during interrogation, Alonge, a hairdresser, fingered the victim’s father.

 He said, “Following Alonge’s confession, Adebayo was arrested. He confessed that he planned his son’s kidnap in order to extort money from some of his church members and sympathizers.”

 Achu-Olayi warned parents to avoid endangering the lives of their children for the sake of money.

 He said, “We have noticed that crimes of this nature are usually committed by parents or close relations and we are warning them that we will not tolerate such acts.”

The suspects, however, traded blame over the incident when our correspondent spoke with them.

Adebayo accused Alonge of coming up with the plan in order to raise N200,000 for a beauty salon. Alonge however denied this.

She said, “I was in Ilesha when he (Adebayo) called me to come to Lagos that some people owed him money. He said the only way to collect the money from them was for me to come and take his son away, while he pretends that he had been kidnapped.

“I came to Lagos on October 4, 2013. I intended going to the school to pick the boy but Adebayo advised that I pick him from the house. Since the children knew me, I told the boy to follow me to get something outside, only to enter the next available vehicle to Ilesha, Osun State.

“His father even gave me N3,000 for transport. When we got to Ilesha, he sent another N3,750 worth of recharge cards for his feeding. He even called his son on the telephone on daily basis.

“He was the one that asked me to demand N350,000 but at the end of the bargain, he said I should accept N200,000. Since I had no bank account, I asked one of my relatives to give me his account details. But we were arrested at the point of withdrawal.”

Adebayo said, “I agreed to the plan because I was broke. I have been a vulcanizer for 20 years and I am poor. I have two kids and my wife is at a church, where she is being healed of paralysis.

“Kehinde was the one that brought up the idea that we should kidnap my son and I agreed because I needed the money too. My share would have been N100,000 if we had succeeded.

“I feel so ashamed of myself because what I did was wrong. I hope the government forgives me and let me go home. I won’t do it again.”

GOV SULLIVAN CHIME'S WIFE CRIES OUT FOR HELP!!!

Clara Chime, the First Lady of Enugu State, is at the moment crying out for assistance to reach human rights bodies to come to her rescue as her husband, Governor Sullivan Chime, has placed her under house arrest!

In a letter dripping with pain and suffering which was sent to SaharaReporters, Mrs. Chime disclosed that she married Mr. Chime in October 2008 but that she has been unable to share the matrimonial

bed with him for over four years.

Describing her desperate situation, Mrs Clara Chime said that even President Goodluck Jonathan and First Lady Patience Jonathan have intervened with her husband without success.

“My father is late, my Mum and few of my siblings are confused and have done all kinds of prayers they know of, 3 of my siblings prefers me dead than to see me leave the Government house.  He treats my mum and my siblings bad,” she wrote.

The Enugu State First Lady said she has been introduced to two psychiatrists whose names she gave as Dr. Onwukwe and Dr. Agumo, who have prescribed “all kinds of drugs that ends up keeping me acute depressed and also drives me into hallucinations.”

The doctors, she noted, are scared of her husband the Governor, to whom nobody can tell the truth.
According to the letter, the Catholic Bishop of Enugu State (Callistus Onaga), and top priests have come to intervene, as have the President and the First Lady of the nation, without success.
Mrs. Chime further complains that Governor Chime has ordered her to leave with her four-year old son whom she conceived before their wedding.
However, the governor, according to her, later threatened to disown the boy should she leave with him.

“He has told everyone he can reach that there is no marriage between us that I can leave if I wish to but whenever I plan to leave, he instructs them to lock me in.   

I have told him through sms that I will leave my son behind and leave alone but still he instructed his securities to lock me inside the house.”

Mrs. Chime further complains she has lost touch with the real world and all that makes her beautiful because of the side effects of the drugs she is taking, stressing that she is under house arrest for committing no crime.

Of the situation in Government House, she said in the letter:

“He does not take care of me personally, the government gives me allowance to run the house and that's where I save little from to take care of my self, my mum and few of my siblings.  

He shut me out of his life years ago; I don't have access to his apartment. The problem is enormous; I don't know where to start to explain from.”

She said that even the security detail in the lodge has resorted to praying for her, while the few that can be bought with money are taking advantage of the situation.
Mrs Chime said, begging:

Police and SS men have been instructed by Sullivan Chime to confine me in a place for a long time now against my wish [but] it is my wish to leave these premises. Please assist me to reach to the human rights and say to them to please come hastily and release me.”
